Channa Curry

Channa curry this one taken with main dishes such as roti, rice .

With snax items also such as samosa , wada , chaat ,upma etc etc….

In chaat and upma my daughter like this very much.

So lets start the dish

Ingredients

1 cup channa or dry peas

1 medium onion

2 medium tomatoes

1 inch ginger piece

2 big cloves garlic

2 green chillies

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp cumin powder

2 tsp coriander powder

1/4 tsp red chilly powder

1/4 tsp degi mrch powder for colouring

salt to taste

water as per the gravy req

chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

For Temepering

2 tsp oil

1 red chilly whole

1/2 tsp mustard seeds

1/4 tsp cumin seeds

Procedure

Soak channa for 3-4 hours.

It doubles in quantity.

Now add salt and turmeric powder to this and give two sities in pressure cooker.

Then in a fry pan heat little oil ,add onion,tomatoes,ginger,garlic n green chillies.Saute for 2 min.Make it cool down.

Now make a paste of this.(In this way it will take less time to remove the raw smell of onion n tomatoes)

Again heat some oil ,add temepring ingredients.

Now add the paste , saute for 3-4 min. Add little water , stir for 3min.

Add all spices and saute for 1 min.

Add boiled channa to this. and water to make gravy and stir properly.

Boil this and finally garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

Have this with your favourite dish.
